“Suspended in Sand”, didn’t quite have the same ring to it as “Suspended” when it came to the naming of this photo. I think the simplicity of the name leaves interpretation more available for the viewer. When I read the name of this image, I imagine time. Something suspended, held completely still, for a moment, a year; a millennia. I see the door no longer on its hinges but rather taking a more enduring residence in the dunes of sand that has occupied the home for years. The permanence of the sand leaves the door, the walls, the entrances; all suspended in that moment and many moments to come.
