One of the best things about travelling and photography is not only seeing the world, but learning the stories and history of every place you go. One slice of history in our own backyard is that of Roy’s Motel in Amboy, CA. What was once a pivotal stop for travelers on Route 66 is now a sometimes-bypassed piece of irreplaceable history. In the past and present its iconic location has been used in movies, videos, and the like. I prefer to think of it in it’s prime; a welcomed sight for travelers to stop in, fill up, and kick the desert dust from their feet.
