Santorini is known for its starkness. Its whitewashed facades have never appeared dull or dismal but rather keep their immaculate appearance. We also can’t help but see the contrasting blue dotted here and there throughout the city as though parts of the sky decided to take their rest nestled on the roof of a home. Or rather that the sea in a great storm splashed itself upon a door and left it’s brilliant blue color behind as a token. Many things in Santorini make it beautiful but looking out at the caldera and back, my eyes can’t help but be drawn to azure.
