“When in Rome” is a very common phrase I’m sure you’ve heard. It’s meant to imply that while in Rome, do what you like; explore, take chances, live! But I think we’re missing out on the other Italian escapes in which to do those same things just because this phrase makes us think Roma is the only place to truly let go. In Amalfi, I’ve often found myself a dreamer; someone who looks at the crawling towns on the mountainside and is transported to another world. The town of Amalfi, tucked into the mountain invites sailors with it’s warm lights and clean, colorful homes. It’s almost as if the setting sun is inviting you into the town, warming you the closer you get and you’re forced to think “Ah, Amalfi”.
