The monasteries of Meteora, Greece have fascinated me from the moment I first saw them. Isolated high in the mountains with nothing but a pulley system and baskets to reach them when the first monks occupied these great architectural feats. One must have needed more faith than imaginable to be able to ascend to their new home let alone live out their days. It reminds me of the faith of another who answered a daunting call; “upon this rock, I will build my church” and upon this rock, they did.
