Middle Earth. Often thought of as a place of Earth but with not so many Earthly qualities. A mystical land of wizards, rings, dwarves and hobbits. I like to think this door is the entrance to such a place. The yew tree has long been known to be the “tree of death” because it is poisoners to animals. That meaning can take place here as well but in a different way. The death of normalcy and the rebirth of the magical. What better sentries to guard the entrance to middle earth than that of such an ancient tree? They are magical in themselves which makes this journey all the more fantastic; don’t yew think?
